My cats are inside cats and have supervision if out. I love them like I love my dogs.

Also, ever heard cats in the middle of the night screaming, fighting, yowling, whatever? Its annoying as heck and if they're mine, I get worried and I'd rather not have to take them to the vet or have them seriously wounded. Where I come from, dogs as well as cats were let to run loose and I've had plenty of aggressive encounters to learn from.

I know my dogs. They are good around familiar faces but can get very aggressive around wild animals, loose pets, and strangers. For that, they are never allowed in well populated areas without close supervision. I know what my dogs would/could/have done to critters that have let themselves in and I'd would not risk their lives with blind faith in someone else's pets.*
My first cat was an indoor/outside cat. He met his fate from a loose dog. Some just run away, never to return... I wonder if cats just do that or if they lack navigational skills...

*(It reminds me of theobromine poisoning in dogs. Some like to say, "Oh, Fifi got into a whole bunch of chocolate and he's just fine. Never had a problem." Ok that's nice, but what if something did happen? And it has, to enough dogs to make it a problem worth warning about. Is it really a good idea to risk his life or use him as a science experiment because it doesn't look like its bothering him? Maybe its a morality thing that I'm not getting... I used to think it was morally better to let my dogs run around free as can be, not a care in the world, but I realized there may be consequences to that - and there were.)

Ok... bored now... >_<
